On Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon, join the East Bay Chapter of the San Francisco Opera Guild for an enchanting fundraising luncheon event at the beautiful Sequoyah Country Club in the Oakland Hills. This special event features a delightful presentation from Jose Maria Condemi (Merola 1999, 2000, Adler Fellow 2001, 2002).
Jose Maria Condemi is a director, producer, and educator in the field of opera and theater whose work has been consistently praised for its strong conceptual approach, striking visual presentation, and remarkable dramatic truth.
Mr. Condemi's association with San Francisco opera has resulted in several mainstage directing engagements, including Carmen, Un Ball in Maschera, Madama Butterfly, Faust, Tosca and Così fan Tutte. He also helmed San Francisco Opera's world premiere commissions of The Secret Garden and Earthrise and innovative projects such as La Bohème Out of the Box.
Mr. Condemi is in demand as a trainer of young artistis. He has been a guest lecturer, master teacher, and stage director for the Merola Opera Program, Wolftrap Opera, the Seattle Opera Young Artistis Program, Huston Grand Opera Studio, University of Cincinnati/CCM and the New National Theater Young Artists Program in Tokyo.
Upcoming engagement include Salome (San Diego Opera), Rigoletto and La Bohème Out of the Box for San Francisco Opera, Tosca with Cincinnatio Opera and Alcina with the Trention Music Festival.
The cost of the event is $110 per person, approximately $30 tax-deductible.
All proceeds benefit the education programs for student isn kindergarten through 12th grade, young singers in the Adler Fellowship Program and the Merola Opera Program.
The deadline for the receipt of reservation is March 31, 2025. Non-members are very welcome.
