Safety First

WELCOMING YOU HOME, SAFELY

The health and safety of our patrons, employees, and artists is our number one priority.

Based on the latest medical advice and patron feedback, as of July 28, 2021, San Francisco Opera will require all patrons over the age of 12 to show proof of vaccination to attend performances at the War Memorial Opera House and the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera.

Here’s how we’re keeping everyone safe:

Upon entry to the Opera House, patrons will need to show proof of full vaccination (defined as two weeks after your final shot). Patrons can show either paper or electronic documentation (including photo of card). Audience members who fail to follow the Front of House safety protocols will be promptly removed from the performance venue.

All patrons are required to wear a mask. Masks with a valve, gaiters, scarves, etc are not permitted. Audience members who fail to follow the Front of House safety protocols will be promptly removed from the performance venue.

Breathe easy knowing that all ventilation systems in the War Memorial Opera House meet the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

Enhanced cleaning practices have been put into place, and we’ve hired extra cleaning staff.

Keep your hands clean with multiple hand sanitizer stations positioned on each level of the Opera House.

All of our front of house and backstage staff will undergo rigorous safety protocols and will also be required to show proof of vaccination to come to work. All front of house staff will also be wearing masks to keep patrons and themselves safe.

All of San Francisco Opera’s health and safety protocols have been developed with a group of University California, San Francisco (UCSF) doctors led by epidemiologist Dr. George Rutherford.

To provide a touchless experience, we are issuing electronic (print-at-home and mobile) tickets, including subscription tickets, for performances at the War Memorial Opera House. Tickets will be mailed for San Francisco Opera Chorus In Concert at the Atrium Theater. Patrons must purchase tickets in advance either over the phone or online. Patrons are not be able to purchase tickets in person at this time.

You may receive a refund up to one month after your purchase. Refunds are only available for performances scheduled after your request. We are also eliminating all exchange fees. Exchanges will be accepted up to two hours before the performance.

In lieu of printed program books, please enjoy a digital version.
