Gospel. Bluegrass. Traditional Samoan, Mariachi and Egyptian music. Travel across the globe to meet stars on their home turf as they perform the songs that inspired their careers in a new video series that shines a light on the musical origins of opera’s greatest performers.

“You guys have a superpower. Your superpower is your culture….We're in a moment in time. When you can do whatever you want. You can be whoever you want.”

In his home base of Miami, superstar tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz visits with the students of the Homestead-Miami Mariachi Conservatory, revealing how culture, struggle and passion infuse the music they make together. In this new In Song, he reflects on the real meaning of music, sharing intimate moments with his family, performing mariachi music that infused his youth, and singing beloved Italian and Mexican songs joined by pianist Roberto Berrocal.
