Project Goal
- Promote educational equity and social justice
- Improve performing arts learning opportunities for middle school students
- Support classroom teacher development of arts knowledge and ability to implement
- Enhance existing or create new performing arts collaborations in SFUSD middle schools

Unit Program: A teaching artist will collaborate with a classroom teacher 1 day a week for approximately 5 weeks in order to infuse arts integration into one unit of study.
Standard Program: A teaching artist will collaborate with a classroom teacher 1 day a week for approximately 10 weeks in order to infuse arts integration into one-three units of study.
Full Program: A teaching artist will collaborate with a classroom teacher 1 day a week for approximately 20 weeks (most of the school year) in order to infuse arts integration into the entire school year.
More About Arts Integration
Arts integration is an APPROACH to TRAINING in which students construct and demonstrate UNDERSTANDINGthrough an ART FORM. Students engage in a CRETIVE PROCESS which CONNECTS an art form and another subject are and meets EVOLVING OBJECTIVES in both.
