Free Performances

Bohème Out of the Box

San Francisco Opera introduces Bohème Out of the Box, bringing free live performances of an abridged La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini to outdoor locations across the Bay Area this spring. Celebrating the 101st anniversary of its first opera, this rendition of the beloved story of love and loss among bohemian artists will unfold in a one-hour format on a mobile stage crafted from a shipping container.

Stream Opera in an Hour Movies

Opera in an Hour Movies, abridged versions of San Francisco Opera main stage performances, are available for free for teachers at educational institutions in the nine Bay Area counties to use in their classrooms.

Lesson plans and educator materials are also available for each movie for a richer, deeper learning experience for students.
