2017–18 Season: Pang in Turandot

Korean-American tenor Julius Ahn made his San Francisco Opera debut in 2014 as Goro in Madama Butterfly, a role that he reprised with the Company in 2016. Pang has become another one of his signature parts, which he has performed with Seattle Opera, Utah Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Pittsburgh Opera, and Atlanta Opera. Later this season, he will reprise the role at Vancouver Opera and Tulsa Opera. The 2017–18 season also includes his role debut as Bardolfo in Falstaff with Opera Omaha. Notable past engagements include various roles in The Nose with the Metropolitan Opera and Opera Boston; Tanzmeister and Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos with Boston Lyric Opera; Sellem in The Rake’s Progress with the Princeton Festival; and Monostatos in The Magic Flute with Opera Carolina and Opera Omaha.
