2017–18 Season: The Overseer in Elektra
Soprano Alexandra Loutsion is making her San Francisco Opera debut as the Overseer in Elektra. Last season, she made her role debut as Turandot at Pittsburgh Opera, debuted at the Palm Beach Opera as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, and sang as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka at Arizona Opera. She also sang the title role of Tosca in concert with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and returned to Wolf Trap Opera as Tosca. Her 2017–18 season includes a return to Palm Beach Opera as Tosca, her debut at Tulsa Opera as Turandot, and her first performances of Leonora in Il Trovatore at Central City Opera. Additional engagements include a debut with the Cathedral Choral Society of Washington, D.C. where she will be the soprano soloist in Haydn’s Mass in C and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
