Event Details

A 15-minute live introduction given by a San Francisco Opera Teaching Artist precedes each screening. No RSVP is required.

These one-hour movie versions are produced by the Education Department for Bay Area schools and groups.

Free Screening: Girl of the Golden West for Families

In Puccini's opera version of a classic Western, we meet a crafty criminal, a suspicious sheriff and a tough frontier woman with a tender heart. The dramatic love triangle is set in California during the Gold Rush. The opera is sung in Italian, with English subtitles and recommended for ages 8 and up.
