Excessive Injustice in the American Social Systems
Kelvin Ross
Acrylic on canvas board, 2021, 14x18”

“Slavery gave America a fear of Black people and a taste for violent punishment. Both still define our criminal justice system” - Bryan Stevenson.

Artist: Kelvin D. Ross, Age 60

Sentenced to 298 years and 4 months to life, for robberies with a child’s painted water pistol (where no individuals were harmed) while trapped in drug addiction to a combination of crack cocaine and meth. Currently, to date, Mr. Ross has been clean and sober 16+ years and spends his time pursuing degrees in history, business and ethics.

Personal Thought: Use the power of your art in the direction of truth and love…even when depicting sometimes sinister motivations.
