Omid Mokri
Acrylic, cloth, rolled newspaper, 2016, 26.5x30.5”

Omid Mokri has a deep and well-rounded education in traditional Persian miniature painting and art conservation. He has studied at the Art Students League of New York, Rhode Island School of Design and has a BFA from California College of Arts and Crafts.

This Self Portrait reflects the artist's feeling about the corrupt and unjust system, in which he was a prisoner and served his unjust, forced sentence of 12 years for "self defense".
