    Similar to wine and culinary tasting events, Opera Tasting is a guided listening experience to expand your knowledge of opera, both in breadth and depth. Immerse yourself in this opera listening, appreciation, and education event with a detailed look into a variety of opera pieces and reignite your love of opera.

    Spring is the season of blossoming flowers and awakened hopes. Our inaugural Opera Tasting event features an examination how music and text are interwoven in conveying the natural beauty of the season and awakened emotions through pieces by Gluck, Puccini and Delibes.

    San Francisco Opera Tad and Diane Taube General Director Matthew Shilvock discusses the vital work our colleagues at UCSF are doing to help get San Francisco Opera back to the stage. Dr. Clark Rosen, Director of UCSF's Voice and Swallowing Center, alongside Dr. Sanziana Roman, endocrine surgeon (and former opera singer), share what the Opera and UCSF have been working on to address safety concerns regarding singing during this pandemic.
