All orders are final; there are no refunds for single ticket purchases. All dates, prices, programs, artists, and productions are subject to change. If you can’t use your tickets, please consider exchanging, donating, or giving them to friends and family. If San Francisco Opera has to cancel a performance for any reason, we will offer full refunds.
Tickets must be purchased through an official San Francisco Opera ticket source (sfopera.com or San Francisco Opera Box Office) and are for personal use only and are not for resale. San Francisco Opera actively monitors all sales and has authority to cancel tickets we recognize as being bought for the purpose of resale.
Tickets that are altered in any way, including but not limited to changing or removing the price, bar code, identifying numbers or any other information on the ticket, will be deemed invalid. Tickets sold by third parties for more than the face value of the ticket will not be honored.
Buyers beware San Francisco Opera cannot guarantee authenticity of tickets obtained through unauthorized sources; admission cannot be guaranteed, and the venue cannot contact you regarding time changes, show cancellations, etc. San Francisco Opera does not condone the unfair and misleading practices of ticket brokers who profit at the expense of true fans. Ticket orders found to be in violation of our reselling policies will be cancelled. Any known or suspected broker orders will be automatically cancelled. Will Call tickets may only be picked up by the original account-holder with valid photo ID on the day of performance ONLY. No exceptions.
Patrons agree to receive email marketing communications from San Francisco Opera. You may change your email preferences by logging in to your account profile and choosing your relevant interests.
By purchasing a ticket, patrons agree to follow all health and safety protocols listed at sfopera.com/safetyfirst and all signage posted at events. Audience members who fail to follow the safety protocols will be promptly removed from the performance venue.

2024–25 Season Subscription Terms and Conditions: If you selected a 2024–25 Season subscription and have requested changes or a second choice, your credit card will initially be charged for your first-choice request. Please note that we will do our best to fill your request, but we cannot guarantee first choice seating. Seating will be assigned in spring 2024. If we cannot seat you in any of your choices, we will contact you to discuss an alternative or a full refund.
If you select parking, you will be charged for the full amount of your package ($23.00 per performance for Full Series and Half Series, $16.00 per performance for Design Your Own Series). If you qualify for complimentary Medallion Society parking, you will not be charged.All dates, prices, programs, artists, and productions are subject to change. A $2 per-ticket facility fee is included in Balcony 1, 2 and 3 section prices; all other sections include a $3 per-ticket facility fee. Subscription tickets may be exchanged for another mainstage performance. Read our Subscriber Ticket Exchange Policy for more information. Eligible Opera for the Bay patrons can only purchase two $10 tickets as part of the program in the 2024–25 Season. Any additional Opera for the Bay tickets will be cancelled and refunded. Please note this offer does not apply to previous purchases and cannot be combined with any other offer. All sales are final. Due to the deep discount and limited availability on this promotion, we are not able to accommodate refunds or exchanges.

Can’t make your performance? Call the Box Office to exchange your tickets into another performance. Exchanges can be made up until 2 hours prior to your performance. All exchanges are subject to availability and any price differential applies. Exchanges are for mainstage performances only and must remain within the season that the original tickets belonged to. If you are unable to exchange your tickets, call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 before the performance to return tickets for a tax-deductible donation.
For all subscriptions, when exchanging into a higher priced performance, any price differential will apply. When exchanging into a lower priced performance, you will receive a non-refundable credit to be used toward ticket purchases within the applicable mainstage season. Credit from the 2024–25 Season expires on June 27, 2025. Any unused credit will be considered a ticket donation which is tax-deductible. Ticket donations do not apply toward membership benefits.
For subscribers to the Student/Teacher Package or the BRAVO! series, exchanges are limited to performance dates and operas that are offered through those programs. Exchanges into other performance dates that do not have the Student/Teacher or BRAVO! subscriber discount, will be made at the regular subscription prices.

Subscription tickets may be exchanged for another mainstage performance within the same season. Read our Subscriber Ticket Exchange Policy for more information. Exchanges are subject to availability; any additional ticket price differential will apply. Center Box, Box and Balcony 3 sections are not available for 2025 Summer Future of Opera subscriptions.

To ensure an enjoyable and relaxed experience for everyone, we recommend that children be at least 8 years old. Programs are often more than two and a half hours long and are not always ideal for younger children. Please note that we do not allow children under 3, including babies in arms. Everyone entering the Opera House, regardless of age, must have a ticket, and children must be seated with an accompanying adult. No lap sitting.

Unable to use or exchange your tickets? Call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 any time prior to your performance to donate your tickets for an in-kind donation receipt. Ticket donations are not treated as cash gifts, and do not apply toward annual giving levels or membership benefits. For questions, please consult your tax advisor.

Misplace your tickets? Download the San Francisco Opera Mobile app and your tickets are available once you log in. Additionally, you can also call or visit the Box Office and we’ll gladly issue reprints. If you received these tickets as a gift, please have the purchaser call the Box Office so they can release the tickets to you. Please note once your tickets have been reissued the originals are no longer valid.

The Opera House opens one hour before curtain. All performances begin promptly at their scheduled times. Latecomers are seated at first intermission. Please note: not all performances have an intermission. If you do arrive late, you can relax with food and drink in one of our bars and watch the performance on the monitor.

Tickets prices are subject to change, for the best seating and prices order early. A $2 per-ticket facility fee is included in Balcony 1, 2 and 3 zones, all other zones include a $3 per ticket facility fee. Traditional group ticket orders (10+ tickets) have a $15 handling fee.

Opera Ball ticket price includes a tax-deductible portion and a fair market value of $350 plus the cost of the performance. The donation component will benefit a wide range of artistic initiatives at San Francisco Opera as well as the San Francisco Opera Guild’s education programs during the 2024–25 Season.
Seating and tickets are subject to availability. First choice seat requests may not be available. Performance seating will be assigned in Summer 2024. Seating will be assigned starting with the highest Opera Ball levels first and patrons will be given priority based on ticketing and donation history. Please call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 with seating preferences or questions.
Federal rules prohibit Donor Advised Funds from providing donations as part of Opera Ball ticket purchases. For more information please consult your Donor Advised Fund institution. We do our best to consider dinner seating requests but are unable to guarantee your first choice of dinner seating or performance seating.
