Weiner, Mitzie Kay

Mitzie Kay Weiner is currently in her fifteenth season with the San Francisco Opera Chorus. A Virginian by birth, Mitzie met her husband Louis during their studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where she obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in Church Music and Vocal Pedagogy/Performance. With the world-famous Westminster Choir, Mitzie has sung and recorded with New York Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestras, as well as numerous smaller ensembles both in the United States and abroad.

As a solo artist, Mitzie has performed locally with Midsummer Mozart, San Francisco Boys Chorus, City Concert Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Lyric Chorus, Cantabile Chorale, Grace Cathedral Chorus and Orchestra, and with choruses and orchestras from Dominican College and College of Marin. She is a frequent recitalist in the vocal studio of Lynn Wickham who has been her coach and mentor for thirteen years. Mitzie and Louis have one teenaged son, Willie, and they make their home in the Marin County community of Santa Venetia.
