McPherrin, Liesl
Liesl McPherrin, Soprano made her San Francisco Opera solo role debut as the second Crimson Pearl Flower in Bright Sheng’s Dream of the Red Chamber. In the 2023 season, she was the Receptionist in The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs and the second Page in Lohengrin.
Liesl is a firm believer in childhood music education and has participated in many school outreach performances for Livermore Valley Opera as the roles of the Queen of the Night, Papagena (Magic Flute), Madame Herz (the Impresario) and Serpina (La Serva Padrona). Liesl performed the role of Lisette in La Rondine with Pocket Opera where “Her stage ease communicated wit and salt, and so did her rich and expansive voice." - Operawire. In the role of Carolina in Cimarosa's The Secret Marriage, also with Pocket Opera, she was praised by San Francisco Classical Voice for her “brilliant top notes and winning comic chops.”
She earned her Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, and her Bachelor of Music at San Francisco State. Liesl is from Yuba City, California.
