Crystal Kim

Soprano Crystal Kim joined the San Francisco Opera Chorus in 2023, and she makes her solo debut with the Company in Madame Butterfly in the role of Cousin. She has appeared as a soloist in many concerts, including Soprano Soloist in Ives’ Symphony No.4 (San Francisco Symphony); Soprano Soloist in Mason Bates’ Mass Transmission (San Francisco Symphony); Soprano Soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Symphony Silicon Valley); Soprano Soloist in Finzi’s In Terra Pax (Nova Vista Symphony); Soprano Soloist in Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis (Nova Vista Symphony). She has sung a role of Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Papagena in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Sister Catherine in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking, A Lady with a Cake Box in Postcard from Morocco, Pamina in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Romilda in Handel's Serse, Mimi in Mozart's La Bohème, Musetta in Mozart's La Bohème, and Poppea in L'incoronazione di Poppea. Crystal earned her Bachelors of Music degree in Voice from the Hanyang University in Seoul. She then received her Masters Degree and Professional Artist Diploma in Voice at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is a former member of the San Francisco Symphony Regular Chorus.
