2018-19 Season: Lighting Designer of Tosca
Michael James Clark made his San Francisco Opera debut in 2014 with La Bohème. As the lighting supervisor for Houston Grand Opera, his recent work includes Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince, David Hanlon and Stephanie Fleischmann’s After the Storm, The Magic Flute, Otello, Die Fledermaus, Aida, ll Trovatore, La Traviata, Mary Stuart, and The Rape of Lucretia. For seven seasons, Clark served as a member of the lighting department at the Santa Fe Opera. He holds a bachelor’s degree in lighting design from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Upcoming credits include La Bohème at Houston Grand Opera and the Canadian Opera Company, as well as the world premiere of Tarik O’Regan and John Caird’s The Phoenix at Houston Grand Opera.
