One of today’s leading choreographers‚ Denni Sayers made her U.S. and San Francisco Opera debuts in 2000 with Parsifal, and returned to the Company for the Ring, Porgy and Bess, Der Fliegende Hollander and Arshak II. Her current work includes the Ring and Die Zauberflöte for Lyric Opera Chicago; Hamlet for Glyndebourne Festival and Adelaide Festival; Francesca da Rimini at Teatro alla Scala; The Cunning Little Vixen for La Monnaie; and as director for The Pearl Fishers and Don Giovanni in Tulsa.  She has long-standing collaborations with many leading directors‚ including Francesca Zambello‚ Jonathan Kent‚ Neil Armfield‚ David Pountney, and the late Nikolaus Lehnhoff.  

Recent engagements as associate director and choreographer include the Ring for Washington  National Opera; choreographer for Der Fliegende Hollander at LA Opera; Porgy and Bess and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Chicago; Don Carlos at Houston Grand Opera; Ariadne auf Naxos for Canadian Opera Company; La Fanciulla del West at Opera  Bastille; Der Fliegende Hollander at Royal Danish Opera; Turandot at Milan's Teatro alla Scala; Hänsel und Gretel for the Vienna State Opera; Elektra at Salzburg; Salome at Baden Baden; Manon Lescaut for Royal Opera, Covent Garden and Bucharest; Sweeney Todd for the Chichester Festival and Adelphi Theatre; winner of Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival‚ and winner of Best Musical in The Evening Standard’s Theatre Awards; Ibsen’s Emperor and Galilean at London’s Royal National Theatre; Private Lives in Chichester; Eugene Onegin for Opera Holland Park; and Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Beijing.

Her work as director and associate director has been seen in Toronto, Cardiff, Shanghai, Boston, Tel Aviv, and for the BBC Proms.
