Fifth-generation San Franciscan, educator, conductor and composer, Cole Thomason-Redus is a Program Manager in our Department of Diversity, Equity and Community. His first association with SFO was as a boy chorister in the 1987 production of Puccini’s Tosca. Over the next seven years, Cole performed in sixteen productions with the company and went on to train boy choirs for numerous SFO productions.
His many other past credentials include Director of Education for the renowned vocal ensemble, Chanticleer, Curator of Classical Music for Apple, Inc., Classical Music Analyst for the Music Genome Project at Pandora Media, Inc., and over two decades of teaching for schools and organizations such as Ragazzi Boys Chorus, Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, San Francisco Arts Education Project, and San Francisco Boys Chorus. Additionally, Cole has performed and recorded with choirs and ensembles throughout the Bay Area and internationally, including Grammy Award-winning albums with Kronos Quartet and the San Francisco Symphony.
