2016–17 Season: Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni
Making his San Francisco Opera and American debuts as Don Ottavio, tenor Stanislas de Barbeyrac performed earlier this season Renaud in Armide at the Vienna State Opera and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Benedict in Beatrice et Benedict, and Pylade in Iphigenie en Tauride at the Opéra National de Paris. Highlights from past seasons include Le Chevalier de la Force in Dialogues des Carmelites at the Dutch National Opera and Bavarian State Opera, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at the Grande Théâtre de Genève, Macduff in Macbeth with Opéra de Marseille, Don Ottavio at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre in Stockholm, and Arbace in Idomeneo at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. De Barbeyrac has won numerous prestigious vocal competitions in France and was a prizewinner at the International Competition of Queen Elizabeth in 2011. In the 2017–18 season, de Barbeyrac will sing Gonzalve in L’Heure Espagnole at the Opéra National de Paris and Le Chevalier de la Forceat the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and Paris’ Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
