Lawrence Pech is in his 23rd season as dance master and resident choreographer for San Francisco Opera. He has created period and interpretive dances on more than 60 productions with the Company. Pech received his formal training from American Ballet Theatre and was invited by Mikhail Baryshnikov to join that company in 1980. In 1986, he joined San Francisco Ballet, where he became a principal dancer in 1989. Pech founded two of his own dance companies and has choreographed more than 50 ballets, 30 musicals, and numerous self-produced evenings of music and dance around the world.
