201617 Season: Donna Anna in Don Giovanni

Making her San Francisco Opera debut as Donna Anna, soprano Erin Wall performed earlier this season Desdemona in Otello at Vancouver Opera (a role debut) and Anna Sørensen in Kevin Puts' Pulitzer-winning Silent Night at Michigan Opera Theatre. Other recent appearances include the title role of Vanessa with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and Santa Fe Opera; Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream and the title role of Arabella at the Metropolitan Opera; and Clémence in Kaija Saariaho’s L’Amour de Loin with the Canadian Opera Company and L'Opéra du Québec. Wall regularly performs in concert, including, most recently, in Mahler’s Second Symphony with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and conductor Edo De Waart, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the San Diego Symphony and De Waart, and Strauss’ Four Last Songs with the BBC Scottish Symphony and Thomas Dausgaard. She can also be heard in the San Francisco Symphony’s 2009 Grammy Award-winning recording of Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, led by Michael Tilson Thomas. Next season, Wall appears as Arabella at Canadian Opera Company and Marguerite in Lyric Opera of Chicago’s production of Faust.
