2018–19 Season: Mary Hatch in It's a Wonderful Life

Performing for the first time at San Francisco Opera as Mary Hatch, soprano Andriana Chuchman also makes her debut this season as Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice at the Hamburg State Opera, and she returns to the Canadian Opera Company as Musetta in La Bohème. Recent engagements include Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, Miranda in The Enchanted Island, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Valencienne in The Merry Widow at the Metropolitan Opera; Eurydice in a new production of Orphée et Eurydice, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, and Valencienne at Lyric Opera of Chicago; her house and role debuts as Pat Nixon in Nixon in China at Houston Grand Opera; staged performances of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at Lincoln Center’s White Lights Festival; Micaëla in La Tragédie de Carmen at San Diego Opera; Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at Los Angeles Opera; Gretel on the Glyndebourne Festival Tour; Magnolia in Show Boat and Marie in La Fille du Régiment at Washington National Opera; Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro at Manitoba Opera; Kumudha in John Adams’ A Flowering Tree at Opera Omaha; Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare at Michigan Opera Theatre; and Boonyi/ India in the world premiere of Jack Perla’s Shalimar the Clown at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Chuchman is an alumna of the Merola Opera Program and recipient of the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’ 2017 Mabel Dorn Reeder Foundation Prize.
