2018–19 Season: Angel First Class, It's a Wonderful Life; a Foreign Princess, Rusalka
Sarah Cambidge returns to San Francisco Opera for her role debut as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka. The former Adler Fellow’s recent appearances with the Company have included Ortlinde and Third Norn in Der Ring des Nibelungen and as an Angel First Class in Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s It’s a Wonderful Life. The Canadian soprano recently made role debuts as Chrysothemis in Elektra at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe, Amelia in Livermore Valley Opera’s production of Un Ballo in Maschera, and she sings her first Sieglinde in Die Walküre at Opéra National de Bordeaux. Her repertoire includes Elsa in Lohengrin, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Mimì in La Bohème, the title role of Floyd’s Susannah, the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Marguerite in Faust, Micaëla in Carmen, and the title role of Suor Angelica. Cambidge was a National Semifinalist at the 2015 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and winner of the 2016 Denver Lyric Opera Guild competition.
