Stock Assistant

PURPOSE:
To assist in the organization of all costume and stock inventory.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience within a theatrical environment, with wardrobe work, and/or with shipping and warehousing
     

PREREQUISITE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of hand finishing techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Ability to use a digital camera and download and copy pictures
  • Ability to organize data in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ability to work independently; prioritize tasks; and exercise good judgment and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities successfully
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with artists, staff, the public including renting companies and vendors, and volunteers in a professional, confidential and tactful manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.  Reliable daily attendance and punctuality
  • Must possess dexterity and keen hand eye coordination
  • Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in organizing costume stock and storage
  • Assists in packing and unpacking SFO productions for load in and load out to the theater
  • Assists in packing, unpacking and tracking rental productions
  • Assists with labeling and hand stitching in workroom when needed
  • Assists with organization of stock fabrics and notions
  • Preparing stock fabrics for use in the workroom
  • Assists with tracking and delivery of rehearsal pieces
  • Assists with laundry as needed
     

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
