Program Manager, Business Operations

To collaborate with all departments of the Opera to deliver successful projects that will implement business process improvements to improve productivity and overall business effectiveness



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; master’s degree preferred


  • Minimum of 6 years business process experience; program/ project management or corporate IT environment
  • Demonstrable experience in business process architecture, modeling, and implementation
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and business requirements analysis
  • Experience in implementing significant process improvements through change management to achieve f strategic objectives
  • Experience with tools (for example Visio) for capturing process mapping, and knowledge of methods for facilitating successful mapping sessions


  • Proven project management skills in a leadership role (knowledge of Agile and Project Management Institute methodologies)
  • Strong hands-on technical skills including Information Security.  PMP certification and experience in Payment Card Industry (PCI) a plus
  • Ability to teach and support departments in understanding what process mapping can do for the company, and support their efforts to understand and improve processes
  • Well-versed in the full Microsoft business tool suite (including but not limited to Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrable ability to scale and adapt process management methodologies to suit the needs of the business
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives across the company
  • Knowledge of organizational structures in the Arts a plus
  • Ability to work independently and on a team; prioritize tasks; and exercise good judgment and initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities successfully
  • Ability manage vendor relationships and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse team members in a professional, confidential and tactful manner
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, especially in IT change management activities
  • Must perform the functions of the position in a safe manner



  • Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs
  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules and develops solutions to program problems, contributing toward business continuity planning and implementation
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting business operational requirements
  • Collaborates across departments to define requirements for business process improvements and develops and implements incremental and longer-term projects to improve business effectiveness
  • Maps and documents existing business processes and best practices; identifying linkage between core processes
  • Identifies process gaps and inconsistencies, establishes priorities, plans and implements projects to fill the gaps
  • Streamlines existing processes and plans for continual improvement, managing improvements across all departments
  • Develops communication and education plans about new processes; documents policies and procedures


  • Team player, assists in resolving Help Desk tickets providing outstanding customer service
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
