Teaching Artist Auditions

Purpose

San Francisco Opera Guild will be presenting in-school performances of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” This is a 40-minute education program, which consists of musical excerpts and spoken dialogue (both in English) using qualified professional singers in the four leading roles of Pamina/1st Lady (soprano), Papagena/2nd Lady (soprano or lyric mezzo-soprano), Tamino (tenor), and Papageno (baritone), with students from each school in smaller spoken roles. 

Artists must provide their own housing and transportation to schools throughout the Greater Bay Area, and be available Mon-Fri (9:00am-3:00pm) for the entire length of contract.

AUDITION DATE:

Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 10:00am-3:00pm

Bryan Education Studio, 4th floor, Veterans’ Building, 401 Van Ness Avenue

 Applicants will be expected to prepare required musical excerpts from “The Magic Flute.” Accompanist will be provided.

Proof of vaccination and Photo ID required for in-person auditions.
Safe social-distancing protocols will be in place. Masks required.

 

CONTRACT DATES:

Weekday daytime coachings/rehearsals: January 4 – January 28, 2022.
School performance dates: January 31 – April 15, 2022
