Family Movie Screenings

Event Details

Come to free screenings of our Opera in an Hour Movies in venues throughout the Bay Area. 

A 15-minute live introduction precedes each screening. Seating is first-come, first-served. The one-hour movie versions are produced by the Education Department for Bay Area schools and groups.

Free Screening: Girl of the Golden West for Families

In opera’s version of a classic Western, we meet a crafty criminal, a suspicious sheriff and a tough frontier woman with a tender heart. The dramatic love triangle is set in California during the Gold Rush. The opera is sung in Italian, with English subtitles, and recommended for ages 8 and up.
