“My mother discovered SFOG's Summer Conservatory, and it was a complete lifesaver. Even though it was online and the hours were unusual because of the time difference, I loved it. No other virtual programs have made me feel that I was part of a community working together to make a musical production. It was almost like being in person. I liked the fact that the Guild program was demanding but creative. We learned challenging music but we were also given creative liberty in making our costumes and backdrops. It gave me the feeling and excitement that I get when I’m in an in-person opera.”

- Linus Schafer-Goulthorpe, 12 years old
