| | Learn About Opera | | San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Opera Guild programs offer an exciting and stimulating view into the world of opera for both adults and children. Start by looking into our Opera Basics on the history and art of the opera. For opera fans, potential fans or those who are simply curious, we offer many more options.
Adults can explore the world of opera further through pre-performance lectures, such as the Opera Talks, Preview Lectures, and panel discussions with the artists and personalities shaping our season at the Opera Guild Insights.
Students and Teachers have many opportunities to explore and learn about opera as well. Students in Elementary through High School may either participate in our in-school programs Opera à la Carte, Interactive Opera and In the Spotlight, or our in-house Student Dress Rehearsal and Backstage Tours programs. Teachers are offered classroom materials and workshops in conjunction with programs throughout the season.
