Proof of Student or Teacher Status is Required
Providing proof of status ensures that student and teacher subscribers qualify for the discount. For mail or fax orders, please send proof of status with your order. For phone orders, proof of status must be received within seven days of order placement.
All subscription requests are subject to availability.
ID requirements: students enrolled full-time (9 credits or more) in educational institutions can present a student ID card or current registration card, and a dated current class schedule. (In the time between school years, proof of full-time enrollment in the previous or following academic year will be qualifying proof. Limit two seats per ID.) Full- or part-time instructors at accredited educational institutions, and members of the Music Teachers’ Association can present a school ID or pay stub, or an MTA membership identification.
Ticket Exchanges for Student and Teacher Subscribers
Subscription tickets may be exchanged for another weeknight performance of the same opera only. Any exchanges of Student/Teacher subscription tickets into weekend performances, even if the original performance is on a weekend, will be made only at regular subscriber prices due to the limited number of discounted seats available.

Here's how to exchange:
Exchange tickets at least 24 hours prior to the performance; there is a $10 per ticket fee for day-of exchanges for all subscribers.
- Call (415) 864-3330 with the tickets you would like to exchange in hand.
- Visit the Box Office in person, and bring the tickets you would like to exchange. Mon 10am–5pm, Tue–Fri 10am–6pm and Sat 10am–6pm phones only.
- Requests received after the performance cannot be exchanged or donated. Mail your tickets and exchange request to:

Student Rush
Student Rush tickets will be available to anyone presenting a valid student ID in his or her own name, starting at 11am on the day of the performance and ending 1 hour before curtain. Those tickets, when available, will be priced at $25 and must be purchased in person or online if you have
registered in advance. Limit two tickets per ID. Subject to availability. Visit
sfopera.com/rush or call the Box Office at (415) 864-3330 the day prior to the performance to inquire. Teachers and MTA members do not qualify for Student Rush tickets.
