Robert Innes Hopkins

Production designer Robert Innes Hopkins made his San Francisco Opera debut with his designs for 2004's The Cunning Little Vixen and returned for L'Italiana in Algeri in 2005. His awards include Opernwelt Set Designer of the Year (2007) for Die Soldaten at the Ruhr Triennial. Opera credits include Prince Igor (Zurich Opera, Hamburg State Opera); Tristan und Isolde (Den Norske Opera); Parsifal (Estonian National Opera); Xerxes (Stockholm Royal Opera); Billy Budd, Peter Grimes, and Wozzeck (the Santa Fe Opera); Carmen (Bolshoi Theatre); Lohengrin (Grand Théâtre de Genève); Rigoletto (Lyric Opera of Chicago); Betrothal in a Monastery (Glyndebourne Festival); The Bartered Bride (Opera North and New Zealand Opera); and Die Soldaten (Ruhr Triennial, Lincoln Center Festival). Theater credits include Children’s Children (Almeida London); Bingo (Young Vic and in Chichester); Swallows and Amazons (Bristol Old Vic, West End, UK tour); Goodnight Mister Tom (West End, UK tour); Wanderlust, The Priory, Tusk Tusk, Redundant (Royal Court Theatre); Clybourne Park (Royal Court, West End); Dunsinane (Royal Shakespeare Company); and Wallenstein and Carousel (Chichester Festival Theatre).
