Patrick Fournillier

Music director of the Nouvel Orchestre De Saint-Etienne and co-founder and music director of the Massenet Festival at Saint-Etienne, conductor Patrick Fournillier made his San Francisco Opera debut with Cyrano de Bergerac, a work he has led at the Paris Théâtre du Châtelet, Milan’s La Scala, and in Valencia. His recent engagements include Louise in Strasbourg; Lucia di Lammermoor with Stuttgart State Opera; Pagliacci at Florence’s Teatro Comunale; La Damnation de Faust with Dresden’s Saxon State Opera; Les Contes d’Hoffmann for his Metropolitan Opera debut; Carmen in Dresden, Zurich, and Stuttgart; Hamlet in Strasbourg; Lucia di Lammermoor in Stuttgart; and La Traviata and Rigoletto in Turin. Other career highlights include Carmen, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Semiramide with Deutsche Oper Berlin; Faust at La Scala; Manon in Nice; Samson et Dalila in Stockholm; Don Quichotte and Carmen in Turin; Werther in Flanders; Faust at the Ravenna Festival; Carmen and Dialogues des Carmélites in Oslo; Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana with Seattle Opera; Aida in Amsterdam and Mannheim, La Sonnambula at the Arena di Verona.
