Charles Carcopino

Projection designer Charles Carcopino makes his San Francisco Opera debut with this production, which has also been seen at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu. After studying audiovisual presentation and multimedia, he devoted himself to contemporary cinema and art at centers like the Pompidou in Paris. Carcopino has been in charge of the Studio de la Maison des Arts et de la Culture of Créteil since 2000 and has created videos and designed interactive installations for numerous venues for Lyon Opera, Lille 2004 Capital Europa de la Cultura, Opéra Garnier (Paris), and Louis Vuitton, among others. Recent career highlights include designs for Lully’s Roland (Lausanne, 2003), Les boréades de Rameau (Lyon, 2003), and Un parquet by Luis de Pablo (Teatros del Canal de Madrid, 2010); ballets including Blanca Li’s Borderline, (Berlin’s Komische Oper, 2001); musicals; and theatrical works.
