Chantal Thomas

Chantal Thomas made her San Francisco Opera debut with 2009’s La Fille du Régiment. She has collaborated with director Laurent Pelly on more than thirty productions, including theater, opera, and musicals. The designer’s career highlights include Orphée aux Enfers at Geneva Opera and Lyon Opera; Platée at Paris Opera Garnier; La Belle Hélène at the Théâtre du Châtelet, English National Opera, and the Santa Fe Opera; Les Contes d’Hoffmann at Lausanne Opera and Lyon Opera; Ariadne auf Naxos at Paris Opera; Rameau’s Les Boréades with Lyon Opera and in Zurich; La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein at the Théâtre du Châtelet); L’Amour des Trois Oranges with Netherlands Opera; L’Elisir d ‘Amore at Paris Opera and the Royal Opera, Covent Garden; La Fille du Régiment at the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, and Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu; Bluebeard’s Castle and La Voix Humaine with Lyon Opera and Latvian National Opera; Pélleas et Mélisande at the Theater an der Wien; La Traviata at the Santa Fe Opera; and Manon for the Metropolitan Opera, Milan’s La Scala, and the Royal Opera, Covent Garden. Recent engagements include La Traviata in Turin; Platée, Ariadne auf Naxos, and Giulio Cesare at Paris Opera; L’Elisir d’Amore at Milan’s La Scala; and La Vie Parisienne with Lyon Opera.
