Thomas Glenn

Former Adler Fellow and Merola Opera Program alumnus Thomas Glenn has performed several roles on the San Francisco Opera main stage, most recently as Vitek (The Makropulos Case), Goro (Madama Butterfly), and Gherardo and a Song Vendor (Il Trittico); he also appeared as the Snake and Vain Man in the Company’s co-production of The Little Prince with Cal Performances. Glenn also created the role of physicist Robert Wilson in John Adams’s Doctor Atomic with San Francisco Opera, a role he reprised at the Metropolitan Opera (2012 Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording), Netherlands Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and English National Opera. His engagements in the current season include Beppe (Pagliacci) and Gherardo with Cincinnati Opera; Charlie (Mahagonny) and Taco Bell (Hagen’s Vera of Las Vegas) with Berkeley Opera; and Ferrando (Così fan tutte) with Intermountain Opera. He is the 2007 winner of the Corsican Concours International de Chant Lyrique.
