Michele Capalbo

Canadian soprano Michele Capalbo makes her San Francisco Opera debut in a role she has performed at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, the Théatre du Capitole in Toulouse, Houston Grand Opera, and in Strasbourg and Nice. Her recent engagements include Leonora (Il Trovatore) with Manitoba Opera and Madrid’s Teatro Real; Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) with Opera de Montreal and Dayton Opera; the title role of Tosca with Seattle Opera and Calgary Opera; Elisabetta (Don Carlo) with Grand Théâtre de Geneve; the title role of Madama Butterfly with Houston Grand Opera; and Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera) with Opera de Québec. Equally at home on the concert stage, Capalbo’s credits include the Verdi Requiem with Nashville Symphony, Ginevra in Giordano's La Cena della Beffe at Lincoln Center, and Poulenc's Stabat Mater with the Florence Maggio Musicale under the direction of Marcello Viotti.
