Making his San Francisco Opera debut in 2012, Mexican tenor Diego Torre just finished performing Rodolfo (La Bohème) for both Opera Australia and Den Norske Opera & Ballet in Oslo. Other recent performances include Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Cavaradossi (Tosca) for Savonlinna Opera Festival; Cavaradossi at Boston Lyric Opera; Rodolfo and Don José (Carmen) at Staatstheater Darmstadt; the Messenger (Aida) and Federico (Stiffelio) with the Metropolitan Opera; Masaniello (La Muette de Portici) for Dessau Opera; and he was a soloist at the Santo Domingo Music Festival. A graduate of the Los Angeles Opera’s Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program, he made his company debut there as Don José in performances of Carmen. He also performed Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Rodolfo (La Bohème) with Wolf Trap Opera. Upcoming engagements include both Tebaldo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) and Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) with Den Norske Opera & Ballet, as well as leading roles in Puccini and Verdi operas with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House in 2013.
