Patrons dining in the Opera House may enter through the North Carriage entrance of the Opera House (adjacent to the War Memorial courtyard) up to two hours prior to curtain.
San Francisco Opera provides additional services throughout the Opera House to make your experience more enjoyable. The War Memorial Opera House opens its doors beginning two hours before every performance through the North Carriage entrance for those dining in the Opera House, and one hour prior to curtain for those attending performances and Pre-Opera Talks.
Pre-Opera Talks, 25-minute overviews of the opera presented by music scholars, are held 55 minutes before each performance (except Opening Night of the season) in the Orchestra section. Free to ticket holders.
Coat checks are located on both sides of the Lobby level.
Opera glasses may be rented for $5 at the North Lobby coat check. ID deposit is requested.
Restrooms are located on all floors except the first floor Lobby level. Wheelchair-accessible stalls can be found on all these floors except the 5th floor of the Balcony level.
Wheelchair seating is located on the Box, Orchestra and Dress Circle levels. For seats, call (415) 864-3330.
Assistive listening devices (Sennheiser model) are available for hearing-impaired patrons and may be obtained at both the North and South Lobby coat checks. ID deposit is requested. For more information, call (415) 864-3330.
First Aid station is located on the South Lower level. In case of emergency, please ask the nearest usher to assist you.
OperaVision, high-definition projection screens, is featured in the Balcony level for select performances.
Taxi service – Patrons desiring a taxi after a performance should come to the Grove Street Taxi Ramp located on the south side of the Opera House. Accommodations are provided on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be guaranteed as service is based on availability of licensed taxis. Staff will be on hand to assist.
Courtesy telephones, for local calls only, are located on the first floor Lobby level directly across from the elevators.
Large print cast and synopsis sheets are available at the South Lobby coat check.
Lost and found items may be claimed at the North Lobby coat check during performances. All unclaimed items are delivered to the War Memorial Performing Arts Center, 401 Van Ness Avenue, the day following a performance. To claim your lost items, please call (415) 621-6600, Monday-Friday, 8am-11:30am.
