Fundraiser to Benefit Music-in-the-Schools and Young-Singer Programs

San Francisco Opera’s Director of Music Administration Dr. Clifford (Kip) Cranna
will interview composer and librettist Mark Adamo
about the making of his new opera, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene
, which will receive its world premiere in June. Adamo is a "brilliant theater composer" (The New Yorker
)—his Little Women
is the most frequently performed new opera of the past 20 years.
Baritone Austin Kness
(Adler Fellow 2009 and 2010) who sang the lead role of Yeshua in the San Francisco Opera workshop of Mary Magdalene
, will sing arias from Mary Magdalene
and other selections.
After check-in, enjoy champagne, wine and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds benefit the San Francisco Opera Guild’s Music-in-the-Schools programs and the Merola Opera Program for young singers.
