Job Title: Principal Giving Associate
Job Sub Title: Full-time, Non-exempt
Job Description:
PURPOSE:  To manage projects and provide administrative support in the area of principal gifts fundraising at San Francisco Opera. 

 REQUIREMENTS:
§ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    (preferred) or equivalent work experience
§ Minimum three (3) years of related work experience, preferably
    in nonprofit development
§ Knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising
§ Demonstrated track record of successful project administration
§ Familiarity with ticketing and patron services, particularly
    in the performing arts
§ Ability to perform tasks accurately, with great attention to detail
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications
§ Proficiency in Tessitura revenue management system
    (highly preferred) or other standard donor database system
§ Ability to take initiative and work independently
§ Ability to set priorities; coordinate multiple projects
    simultaneously; meet firm deadlines
§ Ability to communicate effectively and professionally,
    both orally and in writing
§ Excellent business writing skills
§ Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to interact
    with donors, trustees, leadership, staff and the public in a
    professional, confidential and tactful manner
§ Ability to attend evening and weekend events in the Bay Area
§ Ability to perform the functions of the position in a safe manner

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
§ Work with Principal Giving team to manage initiatives and
    projects related to the highest levels of giving at San
    Francisco Opera
§ Manage projects and timelines for specific campaigns,
    including capital, special purpose and endowment fundraising
    campaigns
§ Partner with Senior Principal Gifts Officer and Prospect
    Research Manager to systematically identify and track principal
    giving prospects; to implement processes and procedures
    ensuring a robust principal gifts pipeline; and to coordinate
    delivery of principal gifts research and profiling
§ Partner with Senior Principal Giving Officer to manage national
    sponsor outreach and strategic travel opportunities
§ Administer activities of the board Directors and Officers
    Committee
§ Administer activities of the board principal gifts committee
    (“high rollers”) and as appropriate, campaign steering
    committees
§ Manage and serve as primary department contact for the
    current list of San Francisco Opera production sponsors
§ Deliver high-level stewardship for individual principal donors
    at San Francisco Opera
§ Work with Principal Giving team to assure processes for timely
    and accurate gift acknowledgement and donor recognition 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
§ Work in partnership with all areas of development to facilitate
    events and donor cultivation opportunities
§ Work closely with all areas of development to support annual
    gifts campaign and legacy gifts fundraising
§ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor contacts
    and ongoing patron communications
§ Help manage flow of donors through subscription renewal and
    Donor Priority Seating process
§ Perform other job-related duties as assigned
